Investigator's Comments

TBRC Investigator

I interviewed the witness in person on August 23, 2002. The sighting took place around the area of Paris, TX in Lamar County, on 8/16/2002. The location of the sighting has natural springs, creeks, as well being very close to Pay Mayse Lake. The sighting took place at 4:00 pm.

The witness is thirteen years old. He was going to the trampoline in his front yard. He sat up on the edge and noticed the dogs were barking frantically and looking towards the street in front of the house. He stood up on the trampoline and noticed something across the street. What he saw was approximately 70 yards from him. He had to look between two trees to see the object.

What he saw was something squatting and looking in his direction. It was across the street from him, a few feet from the road. It was a black color, with 4-inch long hair. It had long arms. There was a dead, musky smell in the air. After a couple of minutes of looking at each other, the creature turned around on all fours and walked back into the woods. The witness jumped off the trampoline and walked into the house. He told his mother what he had seen. She told us that he was not lying about what happened to him.

The witness carried himself very well during the interview. Especially considering there were 10 people listening and asking questions. He was also videotaped. I believe he saw something. The area has a history of Bigfoot sightings and vocalizations. There is a water source as well as a food source in the area. The witness? father cleans catfish in the front of the house. This scent could attract a variety of animals to the house.

The mother of the witness has experienced Bigfoot activity in this area. She has found footprints outside her bedroom window. Several times she has heard howling and screams nearby the lake. Her reports are on the website.
